

Barbara Ann Mattos (Rondeau), 81, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Cambridge, MA passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 after a long brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born September 17, 1935 in Saranac Lake, NY to Clayton and Mary Rondeau (Kennedy). She had twin sisters, June Stewart and Joan Bourque.
Barbara met Ronald John Mattos of Cambridge, MA and they married in June 1953. She retired from the Cambridge Police Department after years of service as Secretary to the Chief of Police. Barbara was a devout Catholic and self-proclaimed cheerleader for the New England Patriots. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and many friends in the Lake Fairways community.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Ronald of 63 years; daughter Rhonda Petrillo (Mattos); son Clayton Mattos and husband, Robert Fleming, of Boston, MA; two granddaughters Gina Petrillo, of Boston, MA and Lisa Wilson (Petrillo) and her husband, Timothy, of New Haven, CT; sister Joan and her husband, James, of Jacksonville, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held Tuesday, December 13th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home between the hours of 10 - 11am with a memorial service to follow.
