

Bernard D. Gorniak, 88, formerly of Erie, PA passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL on March 15, 2025. He was born in Erie, PA on May 7, 1936, a son of the late John and Stephanie Sklarzeski Gorniak.
Bernard was a graduate of Tech High, Class of 1954. Following a desire later in his career, he moved to Florida. He was self-employed in the sales field. As a hobby, Bernard started repairing chipped and nicked crystal glassware which grew into him being known as Dom-O-Nick, the Glass Wizard. After retiring he pursued a passion in oil painting and it brought him into the world of multi media, painting and glass art.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline, who passed away November 15, 1996. Also preceded by his daughter, Daria Lucille Gorniak Harness, who passed February 11, 2015 and his brother Edward and his wife Charlotte Gorniak.
Bernard is survived by brothers, Jerry (Norma), Ramey (Lois) and Tom (Carol). Bernard is survived by sons, Bruce (Lillian Moody), and Barry (Denise). Grandchildren, Jackie (David) Rapacciuolo and Matthew Gorniak, and former daughter-in-law, Kim (Gorniak) Buehler.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to your local school’s Art Department for supplies. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery.
