

Born in Naples, Italy, Millie came to America at age 12 and grew up in Brooklyn, NY where she attended Brooklyn High School for Homemaking. She married Anthony Greco (Tony) on June 26, 1954. Together they lived in Brooklyn, West Hempstead and Massapequa Park, NY before moving to Cape Coral, Fl. in 1973.
In 1975 Millie and family started ACRA Electric, Inc. in Cape Coral. (ACRA is an acronym for Anthony, Carmella, Robert and Anthony Jr.) She worked in the family business until her retirement in 1996. She also started and managed The Cape Lighthouse light fixture showroom from 1978 till 1985. Millie was an active member of the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association (CCIA) and volunteered on the telephone committee and many social functions of the organization.
Millie’s many talents included sewing, cooking and hospitality. She was an accomplished seamstress who made dresses, draperies, boat cushions, pillows, etc. She was a fantastic cook who presided over many family meals as well as baking cookies and pies. One of her specialties was the annual Christmas riceballs which we all looked forward to! She made anyone who came into her home feel welcome and loved, and everyone always left with a full stomach.
Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her family, and was especially proud of her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tony, brother Tony Devito (Michelle), sons Robert (Denise), Anthony (Cathy), grandchildren Laura Chapman (Christopher), Raeann, Michael (Kristen), Joseph, and great grandchildren Dominic and David Chapman. She is also survived by treasured sister-in-law Jeanette Greco and niece Gina Fitzgerald (Richard) as well as nephews Gregory (Linda) and Alan (Pam) Devito, nieces Laraine Greco and Diane (Bruce) Lerner.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gaetana and Alfonso Devito, her brother Gus, sister in law Frances, brother in law Sal and sister in law Helen as well as niece Desiree.
The family is grateful to everyone who helped with mom’s care during her illness, especially the staff of Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, which was her home for nearly five years and for the folks at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral who helped at the end of her journey, God Bless you all. We are also grateful to everyone who took time to stop and visit with her. It meant the world to us.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday February 2, at 10:30 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave., Cape Coral, Fl. 33991. Entombment to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday February 1, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl. 33991
