Born on March 25, 1943 in Biloxi Mississippi, Carol grew up in Queens, New York, with her beloved sister Mary and parents, Charles and Margaret (Finnegan) Piazza. While working as a secretary for an investment banking firm in New York City, at the age of 21, Carol took a cruise with her sister Mary aboard the Oceanic and met the love of her life, Italian crew member Alessandro Ravetti. The two married less than two years later and built a life centered on family with their three daughters--Alessandra, Debbie, and Diane--in Oceanside, NY.
Carol was a talented artist who found joy in oil and watercolor painting, as well as playing piano and crocheting. She lovingly crocheted blankets to welcome each of her eight grandchildren into the world, creating treasured keepsakes that will live on for generations. She worked for many years at TWA, where she developed a love of travel. She especially cherished traveling with her husband and held a deep love for Italy, a place that was close to her heart.
Above all, Carol cherished her family. She dedicated herself to raising her three daughters, selflessly and graciously putting the needs of others before her own. She was a devoted wife who cared for her husband for many years during his illness, always placing his needs above her own.
Carol was a woman of remarkable strength. Despite enduring significant health challenges throughout her life, she faced each one with quiet bravery and unwavering faith. She remained strong, positive, and independent until her very last breath. Carol was deeply devoted to her faith, which guided her throughout her life and sustained her through every illness and setback with unwavering courage.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alessandro Mario Ravetti, who passed away in 2020. Carol’s memory will be kept alive by her sister, Mary Piazza; her three daughters, Alessandra Ravetti Jaeger, Debra McGeary, and Diane Martin; and her cherished grandchildren, Joseph McGeary, Kim McGeary, Paul Martin, Alex Martin, Alessia Jaeger, Erin McGeary, Connor Martin, and Luke Jaeger.
Carol will be remembered for her humble kindness, steadfast faith, and endless devotion to her family. Her strength, generosity of spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her will never be forgotten.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services prior to burial. Carol is being laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 inside the Garden of Remembrance at Coral Ridge Memorial Park and Cremation Gardens, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540. A celebration of her life is being planned by the family and this memorial will be held later this spring in Cape Coral, Florida.
