Born on May 8, 1954, in Manhattan, New York, Damian carried his New York roots with him throughout his life - strong, loyal, and full of heart. He was a man who embraced freedom, adventure, and above all, family.
For 35 devoted years, Damian was the beloved husband of Shellie. Their life together was built on love, partnership, and shared memories that will forever remain a treasure to those who witnessed their bond.
Damian was a proud lifetime member of ABATE and an avid Harley rider who found joy in the open road. Riding was more than a pastime — it was an expression of his independent spirit and love of community. He was also an accomplished surfer who felt most at peace by the water, especially in Cocoa Beach. The beach was his sanctuary, where the rhythm of the waves reflected his easygoing soul.
Above all, Damian was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Shellie; daughter, Tori (Scott Rosenbeck); son, Thomas; and cherished grandchildren, Ellarose and Luke, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Jody Ferrara; sister, Donna Keller (Paul); beloved in-laws, Lloyd and Patricia LaBeau, with whom he shared a close and special bond; and a large extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews who will deeply miss him.
Damian was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elaine (Emby) Ferrara, and son, Peter Michael.
He will be remembered for his adventurous heart, his loyalty, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His spirit lives on in every open highway, every breaking wave, and in the hearts of the family who will carry his memory forward.
The family will be holding a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
