Veres, Daniel Craig - Age 72, formerly of Fenton, recently residing in Cape Coral, Florida, died of natural causes January 13, 2021. No services will be held however a celebration of his life will be later this summer.
Dan was born September 4, 1948 just outside of Detroit and was always proud of his Delray upbringing and Hungarian heritage. He was known by his many friends as ‘Big Dan’ for not just his imposing size but his heart, laugh and larger than life personality. He cherished his friendships and loved telling his boys the stories of fun times growing up and great things he and his buddies would do. It seemed that wherever Pops was a good time was going to be had. He loved making people laugh and he loved spending time with his friends whether it be in Florida or Michigan.
Another favorite title he was known as was ‘Pops’. His 3 sons and their wives Daniel, David (Erin) and Damon (Delana) knew Pops as a loving and loyal father rarely missing an event where he always made his presence known to cheer his sons on. The pride he had in his sons was immeasurable in anything they did and that love carried over to his daughter in laws. Pops was blessed with four grandsons, Kade, Jacob, Dalton and Camden. He truly enjoyed his time with his grandsons, especially as they got older and Pops could really have fun with them. He made them laugh and they each warmed his heart in their own unique ways.
Of everything that Dan did in his life, nothing was more important to him than his amazing and devoted wife of 53 years, Cheryl. What a great example they were for all in love, loyalty, sacrifice and commitment. Together they were an amazing story of perseverance and unconditional love.
Also surviving are his brother Craig Gamen, sister in Law Denise Bruce, nephew Chip Bruce (Marianne) and nieces Melissa Fuller and Beth Ford (Ryan) and his favorite puppy, Lucy!
Cheers Pops to a job well done...we got it from here. Mom is in great hands!
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Veres and Irma Gamen
