Born on December 18, 1934 in Wurtland, KY to the late Bernie and Lilly Heaberlin Elkins, Donald retired from E.I. DuPont and de Nemours and Co., a proud member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and attended Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral, FL.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mona Jean (Oxley); sons David of North Ft. Myers, FL and Gregory (Berdina) of Moon Township, PA; grandchildren Ben and Kate; brothers Lilburn (Peggy) of Roswell, GA, Marvin (Jo Ann) of Spring Lake, MI, and Herb of St. Augustine, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends. He is preceded in death by sisters Dana Elkins; Elsie (Bob) Sammons; Jean (Tom) Crump; brother Fred (Barbarette) Elkins; and brother-in-law Wendell Oxley.
Burial will be in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
