Preceded in death by his Beloved Wife-Iris Tanner, Son- Donald Douglas Tanner, Daughter- Jeanna Tanner Timmerman.
He is survived by his Children- Deanna (Louis) Tanner Miller, Grandchildren- Justin Miller, Tanner (Stephanie) Miller, Steven Bledsoe, Meghan Bledsoe, Margot (Braden) Heck, Great-Grandsons- Owen & Kato, Great-Granddaughter-Kaia, Sister-Kay Ebner.
Don Graduated from Belle Glade High School and received his High School Diploma.
He was married to Iris Pearl McMullen on 9/21/1958.
Don had a career as a Belle Glade Police Officer, FL East Coast Rail Road, His forever dream job, Farm Manger South Bay Growers. After retirement his 2nd dream job was Tow Boat USA as a boat captain, loving the waters.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Island, Belle Glade Elks Club & Ducks Unlimited. He was a community leader.
He had a passion for Inshore/Offshore fishing, chasing sunsets by boat, the love for his family and grandchildren were his greatest passion as well as football & the love for all animals.
Dad was a simple man, he did not want to gloat on himself, he would say, "I am a Servant of God. My family & grandchildren our my greatest accomplishments."
A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Pine Island, 5363 Avenue D, Bokeelia, FL 33922, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Port Mayaca Cemetery, 23900 SW Kanner Hwy Canal Point, FL 33438.
