She was the daughter of Leon and Margaret Steelman who resided in Cherry Hill, NJ. Elaine attended Glassboro State College where she graduated with a degree in elementary education and pursued a life long career of teaching. She married John A Pastre and had four children, Elizabeth Coite, John Pastre Jr., Douglas and Robert. All four children predeceased her. She is survived by six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and her sister Phyllis Barber.
Elaine was a devout member of the United Methodist Church, Pine Island, where she enjoyed being the liturgist. She also liked to play golf and was an avid and creative seamstress.
A celebration of life will be held January 30, 2026, at 1PM at Gulf Coast Village Assisted Living.
