

Francis “Frank” Smith, 81, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 28, 1944, in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late Francis and Louise Smith.
Frank was a kind-hearted man, known for his generosity and quiet strength. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he touched the lives of many with his warmth, work ethic, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A retired mechanic and heavy equipment operator, Frank never lost his passion for fixing things - you could often find him working on golf carts, tinkering in his garage or shed, or dreaming up his next project.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Joanne (Manella) Smith, and their children: James Smith and his wife Lisa Merrill of Uxbridge, MA, Franky Smith of Woonsocket, RI and Sheri (Smith) Delisle and her husband Paul of Cape Coral, FL; daughter-in-law Melissa Smith of North Ft Myers, FL. Frank was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly and who brought immense joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Smith of North Fort Myers, FL, and daughter-in-law Giselle (Tardiff) Smith of Woonsocket, RI.
Frank's legacy is one of love, quiet resilience, and a life well lived. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8th from 11 - 1pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Palmetto Pine Country Club, 1940 SW 9th Ct, Cape Coral.
