

George was born in Bronx, NY on July 25, 1933, to Frank and Mary Bergau. He served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War.
He moved to Cape Coral from Bridgeport, CT in 1971 with his wife Adelaide and their four children. George and his brother Bill, co-founded Bergau Brothers Plumbing in 1973.
A member of the Cape Coral Moose Lodge #2199, he served as Governor and achieved the Pilgrim Degree of Honor. He also assisted many children in not only finding a new home but a new life at Mooseheart. With the retired men and women of the Moose, he helped with their relocation to a better life at Moosehaven as the Admissions/Marketing Representative for the Florida Moose.
George also volunteered at the Cape Coral Hospital giving over 5000 hours of service.
George was a member of the American Legion Post 90, Cape Coral Sail Club, Power Squadron, and the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Adelaide and his grandson Frederick Charles Anderson II.
Survivors include his children George (Jennifer) of Naples, Adelaide (Fred) Anderson of Monroe GA, Susan (Bruce) Winters of Cape Coral, Marilyn of Cape Coral, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his loving sister Wilhelmina Korwatch.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Andrews Catholic Church.
