

George "Joe" Bombardier, 81 of St. James, FL peacefully passed away on Friday February 25, 2022. Born in Adams, MA on January 18,1941, son of the late George and Pauline Bombardier and brother to David Bombardier. He resided and raised his family in Fairfield, CT until retiring to San Bernadino, CA and then settling in St. James, FL.
George had a creative and adventurous spirit and always looked “outside of the box”. George always stayed positive despite being confronted by many life and health challenges. It was this spirit and energy that kept him living his life on his terms until the very end.
George was a hard worker and his love for roofing work manifested into owning and operating his own business known as G & G Roofing and Gutters in Fairfield, CT. George loved to use his creativity to invent new gadgets and other items.
George enjoyed skiing with his family, camping, collecting trains and traveling. George enjoyed going to swap meets and flea markets any chance he got. George was also known for traveling across the country from CA to CT in a golf cart. This recorded adventure had him in his glory. To tell his story to the world was an inspiration to all. He really loved his decision to accomplish this task…Bravo George!
His greatest accomplishment in life was the family he raised in Fairfield, CT. George was married to Marilyn McNee for many years. A special mention to family friend Patricia Bradley. George is survived by daughter; Patricia Morales, grandchildren Michael, Ariela, Estefan and Pedro, daughter; Maureen Schlag and husband William, grandchildren Jennifer, Theresa and Christina, daughter; Diane Wilson Gates and husband Richard, Son; James Bombardier grandchild Sierra, and daughter; Allison Gurge and husband Michael, grandchildren Victoria and Juliann. George is also survived by 14 Great Grandchildren.
All are welcome to attend a funeral service at 10:00am on March 26, 2022 at Holy Family Church 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT 06825.
