Gloria Couch, my mother was always there when I needed her. Always listening , loving and caring. I applaud her ascent into heaven to be with Acee and Daddy. She deserves this rest because she worked tirelessly for her family.  I just wish for one day I could walk from the day she birth me through my life with her just to feel her love again. The world is a different place now. We used to have more family than memories, now we have more memories than family. This day came way too fast. I'll miss you until I see you again, Mama.

If you ever had the privilege to be at  Gloria dinner table then privileged you were indeed! The heart of her home was at that table. She would share countless memories and stories you would cry laughing and some you would cry in sadness due to the pain in her voice. 
She brought a sense of family of unconditional love and a shoulder to lean on ! 
It’s where she would mend those babies boo-boo’s , where she would retreat to after a long night of work. It’s where Tebo would sit to drink his morning coffee and tell Papa DeDottie to finish his milk before momma throws it out lol.. It’s where she would go to display all her countless photos and  where she would bring Acee awards to when she wanted to clean every inch of them and tell you how she missed him so!! It’s where she would watch countless family members be taken from as they drew their last breath. It’s a table she wouldn’t let anyone pass if they were hungry just to see you light up that you loved what she made you! It was a small table but it was a full table, full of everlasting memories and an abundance of love and admiration of those that sat before her. Thank you for the endless love and care you gave to our son you simply beamed with joy having him around  to dote over and give all your kisses too ♥️ I’m forever grateful for the care you gave unto me while I was with Brad you were considered to be my family also. You always made sure we did the right thing and provided guidance when needed! I love you Granny and I know you and the only man you ever loved were reunited on that fateful day and your boy whom you’ve missed all these years were able to be together again in heaven just as you prayed for so many years. To be absent from the flesh is to be present with the Lord
In closing you will be surely missed not just now but years to come as your absence will leave a void in all of lives. I love you dearly and will cherish all of the wonderful memories and love we’ve shared along the way ♥️

Cooking and listening to music..sharing every memory she could recall..I would keep her talking by asking questions..and those terrible nights..her wringing her hands and saying she cant sleep cause she had a lonely aching feeling..so I would offer cookies and a drink and. She would start talking about her life long ago and she would express how much she missed daddy her family..then she would go to bed..it was like she had to talk these memories out that were looping in her mind.And as exasperating as it were I always calmed myself by saying ..girl your going to cherish these moments and I do

There are no words to adequately express what I feel and how deep its felt,when I think of my mom I think..family .Her kids..our kids..their kids.Her sisters and brothers aunts uncles.Her treasures were family..thats why she had so many pictures..she would drag them out of her closet at night and we have found little notations of what was going on in the pictures my heart bubbles over as I can hear her explaining..they are our most treasured inheritance...moms pictures.My talented daughter in law Samantha Burnham has spend endless hours going through them and cataloging and scanning..she has become my mothers guardian of recorded memories.Her grandsons..if you think she was proud about her sons..you should seen her light up when a grandson walked in!And her beautiful great granddaughters who stood by her till that last breath.Her family..her whole life..every choice she made it was based on love..at 64 I recently realized core values I had but not so aware of instilled by her..Love,loyalty,long suffering,faith,hope and a big old dollop of humour,I had her with me almost 8 years,I got to see up front how Dementia robs them who are afflicted we were together 24/7and I dont regret it I would do it over and iver because I was blessed with the gift of oral history from her and yes it was repeated over and over but I always acted like it was the first time I heard it..cause I knew one day..one sad day..I would stop hearing it,so I began watching videos I took of her on a normal day knowing as I was doing so that this video will be so important one day and it  only it leaves a deep aching to be back in that moment..words my mother said to me everynight"I love you so much Yes I love my babies I pray for you all everynight."We love you too momma and look forward to hugging each other again so until then go rejoicing dancing happily into the arms of the Lord.

My grandmother was one of the most loving people. She dearly loved and doted on her husband, and her babies, grand babies, and great grand babies. I simply wouldn’t be who I am had I not had her in my life growing up, and it’s that much darker without her.
