Gus was like a second dad to me and my brothers. He was a dear family friend and our families shared so many wonderful memories. My heart goes out to his family for their loss, but my heart rejoices in the fact that Gus is with his savior, his wife, family and friends who were there to greet him when he went home. 

Our prayers are with all the family members of Gus as they grieve his passing. 

 Those who have never had the pleasure of meeting my father I would like to enlighten you a little bit about him my father was one of the most amazing people kind hearted loving father that anyone could ever have He is truly going to be missed  Buy all my family and myself he was a wonderful Christian man and I know when I go I know he will be waiting for me alongside my mom. I am truly going to miss him.  Dad you will always be in my thoughts and prayers  I love you 

Gus Peters will be in my heart until the day I see him again. He was a devoted husband , father and a follower of The Lord Jesus Christ. 
   My memory of dad is he was the hardest working man I have ever known. He explained that his working 2 jobs was a product of fear. He had been laid off at his job and during this period had started another. He got called back to his job but kept other as well .  A remarkable man to sacrifice for his family. This caused a lapse of activity with his family but I’m saying the time my dad spent with his children was priceless and full of love. 
  I consider myself a blessed man to have had a dad like mine. The memories I have of the last few years while he had Parkinson Disease will be treasured. I was able to learn about Gus and not just dad. To the very end he talked about his faith and would witness to his fellow patients about his concern for their souls. 
  So much to say but not enough time or space to   share the love I have for my dad and the impact he had on my family.  Love you Dad!!

My Grandpa Gus was a great man. He loved all of us grandchildren and his own. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He never gossiped or participated in family drama.

Most of all he lived for the Lord, which is very uncommon in today’s times.  Every chance he had, when we were together he would have a heart to heart with me about how important it is for a young man to do right by the Lord. He told me to read Proverbs, and it would teach me how to be a good man. I never really saw eye to eye with him on religion until I was a grown man with my own family, but now I understand.

He was calm most times and sometimes would get agitated and would say things like “golly Moses miss roses” and “dad gummit,” but I never heard him cuss and he was usually right about his advice.

We had a few summers together where he would play baseball with me at the park down in Florida, take me on bike rides, or to Malia’s rehearsals for her role in Annie , or to gator alley to look at gators. He was a fun man in a lot of ways.

I remember him always laughing and smiling. I do remember him being somewhat annoyed on occasion by my grandma (god rest her soul), but he loved her and did what he could to make her happy.

I guess there’s not one specific memory to share because it would take a book to write all the things I remember. However, the things that stand out the most were his vibrance, his energy, his laughter, his love of God, and his Cooking!

We will miss you Gramps and will see you in heaven.
