Jerald (Jerry) J. Oliver, age 60, of Bradenton Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday, December, 2, 2020. Born in Hampton, Virginia at the Langley Air Force Base, perhaps, this is what started Jerry’s adventurous lifestyle; for he traveled to many different states always living on his own terms. His best adventure was that of the Appalachian Trail, where he completed his 2,000 mile tract on foot, something many of us can only dream of, and living truly on the land. He was what you can call a Renaissance Man; for his natural talents were vast and many. His heart and love for his family, friends, fury baby (Butterscotch), playing his guitar, living near water and reading his Bible, especially the Psalms which he named his sailboat, was always evident as he spoke fondly of all.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Barbara Seiler (John); father, Jim Oliver (Michele-deceased); brother(s), Nick (Donna), Jimmy, Michael, Ethan (deceased); sister(s), Elizabeth (Davide), Caitlin; nephews: Matthew, James and Axel; nieces: Megan, Eve as well as a most of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Coral Ridge Cemetery on December 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Jerry’s name to the Salvation Army.
“When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.” ~ Psalms 73:16-17
