Mrs Laura Ruth Ruth Knotts Johansen

Ruth Johansen formerly of Hyde Park, NY passed away September 13, 2011 in Naples, FL following a brief illness. Born Laura Ruth Knotts on June 26, 1919 to Mary Edna Maddox and Samuel Knotts in Marcus Hook, PA. Mrs. Johansen married the love of her life Christian Norgaard Johansen on March 26, 1938 in White Plains, NY who predeceased her. She is survived by their daughter JoAnn Johansen (Naples, FL), brother, Samuel Knotts, Jr. (Dover, DE), and niece Kay Murray (Coco, FL) and nephew Douglas Johansen (Indian Harbor Beach, FL).

Mrs. Johansen worked as a LPN at White Plains Hospital, NY during World War II and retired in 1972 as an office manager at Western Publishing Company, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was active in the Masonic orders serving as Worthy Matron 1978 of Cascade-Vassar Chapter #347, Order of the eastern Star (Poughkeepsie, NY), Royal Matron 1986-87 of Lee Court #9, Order of Amaranth (North Fort Myers, FL) and Worthy High Priestess 1992 of Fort Myers Shrine #4, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem (North Fort Myers, FL). Entombment was ate Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Conservancy of Southwest Florida, 1450 Merrihue Drive, Naples, FL or the Humane Society Naples, 370 Airport- Pulling Road North, Naples, FL.
