Lois "Ginny" Ann (Marks) Titi

Our Dearest Mother, Lois, 94, slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God on January 12, 2023. A most recent resident of Calusa Harbour in Fort Myers, she was sharp of mind and spirit and loved her family until her last breath. After a brief but rapidly progressing illness, she suffers no more.

Lois Ann Marks was born to Catherine and Alva Marks in 1928 and was raised in Capitol Heights MD. She so enjoyed growing up in the company of her parents, brother Charles (Skip) Marks, her DeGrasse cousins, and her classmates at Maryland Park High School. She was liked by many and was the editor of her high school yearbook. Upon graduating, she worked at the Departments of Agriculture, Health, Education, and Welfare, and Selective Service, before meeting her future husband Severino (Sam) Titi at St. Francis Catholic Church in Washington DC. Sam and Lois were married in 1952 and would raise four sons and a daughter. They were fortunate to live next door to her brother Skip and his wife, Rita, and their family for ten years while in Temple Hills and then lived for the next 20+ years in adjacent Camp Springs, MD. Throughout her married life she enjoyed her association with Sam’s Ohio-raised siblings: Adrianna, Connie, Sue, and Sonny and their spouses. She returned to work at the Department of Health and Human Services and the U. S. Air Force when the children became of age. A devout Catholic, she played the church organ and sang in the Maryland choirs of St Ignatius and St John the Evangelist in the 60’s and 70’s and St Cecilia’s of Clearwater, FL after retiring from federal service, in the 1990’s. She was a church volunteer worker for many of her senior years, both as a “snowbird” and upon permanently moving to Clearwater and St Petersburg FL. She exemplified selfless dedication in service to her family and churches. She was very supportive and encouraging of her five children and grandchildren’s education and accomplishments. Clinging to her maternal grandmother’s Irish roots, she loved Irish lore and was sent by her family to the Emerald Isle with her husband for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Lois was pre-deceased by her parents Catherine and Alva, husband Sam, and brother, Charles (Skip) Marks. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Richard (Patricia) of Chesapeake VA, Gerard (Barbara) of Ayer MA, Mark (Hayley) of Reinholds PA, Matthew (Cynthia) of Cape Coral FL, and Michele of Plantation FL. Her grandchildren include: Chelsea, Katherine, Christopher, Brianna, Grace, Evan, and Daniel. Her friends at Calusa Harbour were a big part of her life for the past decade.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Cape Coral’s Coral Ridge Funeral Home. A pre-Mass visitation will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home 950 Chiquita Blvd, South Cape Coral FL, from 11-12 PM on February 10, 2023, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 1 PM at St Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church in Cape Coral. She will be interred with her husband, Sam, in St Petersburg, at a later date.
