Born July 29, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mike was the beloved son of the late Stanley and Eileen (née Joliceour) Roback. He grew up with a strong work ethic, a generous heart, and an instinctive knack for fixing just about anything—a gift that would become one of his defining traits.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Mike served his country with honor and carried that same sense of duty into every chapter of his life. After his service, he built a reputation not only as a skilled craftsman but as the kind of man people counted on. If something needed building, repairing, or inventing, Mike was your guy. Contractors might have called a job “too small,” but Mike never did. He approached every task with care, creativity, and a quiet confidence that there was always a solution waiting to be found.
He loved woodworking, fishing, and the simple joy of creating something with his hands. Whether he was crafting a piece of furniture, tinkering in the garage, or helping a neighbor with a project, Mike found purpose in being useful. He embodied the true spirit of a handyman—resourceful, patient, and endlessly capable.
More than anything, Mike was known for his generosity. He did everything for everyone, often before they even asked. His kindness was steady, his presence reassuring, and his willingness to help unwavering. To know Mike was to know someone who made life easier, lighter, and better.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and love—one built not only in wood and tools, but in the countless lives he touched.
May his memory be a blessing and his spirit live on in every project completed with care, every problem solved with ingenuity, and every act of quiet kindness done in his honor.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Monday, April 13, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL 33991. Mike will be laid to rest in the Garden of Honor II where the United States Navy will present Military Honors.
