

For nearly 40 years of her life, Nancy worked and traveled in service to her country. As the wife of a Diplomate, Peter Jon de Vos, she also lived in many places around the world. Here is a chronological list of her life as she recalled it:
1957 to 1959: Women’s Army Corps (W.A.C.) Fort McClellan Alabama
1959 to 1961: The Ohio State University
1962 to 1964: Joined the C.I.A., posted in Reefe, Brazil
1965: Moved to Washington D.C.
1965: March 13, Married Peter Jon de Vos
1966 to 1968: Posted in Naples Italy. Visited France, Spain, Portugal
1968 to 1970: Posted in Luanda, Angola
1970 to 1971: Lived in Sao, Brazil
1971 to 1973: Lived in Brasilia
1973 to 1975: Lived in U.S.A., Cabin John Maryland
1975 to 1978: Posted in Athens, Greece
1978 to 1980: Lived in a newly built home in Caban John, Maryland
1980 to 1983: Posted in Guinea Bissau, West Africa

Nancy had a big heart and donated to many animal shelters and various veteran support groups. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Jon de Vos; sisters, Barbara Zwilling, and Helen Marlene Cline.
She is survived by her youngest sister, Priscella “Pris” Hoyle of Columbus, Ohio and many loving nieces and nephews that will miss her greatly.
Per Nancy’s wishes, a remembrance service will be held at the graveside of her parents, George and Helen Wesney, Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, Ohio on October 11, 2025 at 1pm.
