Pete Vlahakes

Pete graduated from Philips High School and received his Associates Degree from Birmingham Community College. He married the love of his wife Mary Evelyn Dupree on August 14, 1965 in Huntsville, Alabama. Pete was a Technical Illustrator at Lockheed Martin, specializing in Aero-Space industries. He also served in the Orlando Union Rescue Mission for over 25 years.

He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, working on cars and growing roses and citrus trees. Pete will always be known for having the most beautiful roses.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Evelyn Vlahakes and their four daughters Deborah Louise Vlahakes Costner (David), Mary Rachel Vlahakes, Susanna Ruth Vlahakes, and Sarah Ellen Vlahakes Monteiro (Daniel). He also leaves behind 11 beloved grandchildren Michael T Vlahakes, Nicholas J Vlahakes, Brianna C Vlahakes, Sage A Vlahakes, Paxton Vlahakes Williams, Evelyn V Costner, Eli Costner, Willow B Vlahakes, Henry A Vlahakes, Kaia G Monteiro and grandson Ronan S Monteiro to forever cherish his memory.

Pete was preceded in death by his son Peter Michael Vlahakes; his parents Mary and Gus Vlahakes; and his six siblings John Vlahakes, Nick Vlahakes, George Vlahakes, Jim Vlahakes, Ethel Graham and Celia Moore.
