Phyllis “Bubbles” Cervoni, 96, of North Fort Myers passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Bubbles was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She was married in 1946 at which time she moved to Brooklyn and later to Lynbrook, NY. After retirement, she moved with her husband Joe to Six Lakes Country Club in North Fort Myers. During her career Bubbles worked as a seamstress, a telephone operator, a school crossing guard and a bookkeeper. However, she was most proud of her job as a certified dental assistant. Bubbles loved to play cards and Mahjong, which she introduced to the ladies at Six Lakes when she arrived and continued to play as long as she was able. Bubbles, as her name would suggest, was always an outgoing and gregarious person. The diamond stud she wore in one of her nails was her personal fashion statement.
She is survived by her sons Joseph and Thomas and their wives Susan and Donna and well as her two grandchildren Andrew and Nathan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Joe.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home between 4 - 6pm with service to follow.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in the name Phyllis Cervoni to the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, 14010 Roosevelt Blvd., Suite 709, Clearwater, FL 33762
