

Ralph Glenn Gibson, 83, of Cape Coral, FL passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Born March 9, 1930, in Arlington, TX to Minnie Evelyn (nee Bulloch) and Thomas Gibson. Ralph’s love for bowling began at an early age working as a “pin setter” in Purcell, OK. He became a bowling professional at age 17 and is a member of the Oklahoma Pro Bowlers Hall of Fame and the National Pro Bowler Association. He was also an avid golfer and hit 2 hole-in-ones. Ralph served in the Army as an infantryman in Korea from 1950 to 1952. He then attended Oklahoma City University where he studied Business and was immediately hired upon graduation by Union Carbide/Ever-Ready Battery where he worked for 33 years.
Ralph is survived by his life partner of 22 years, Loretta Walker of Cape Coral, FL; daughter Kelly (Mitch) Wegmann of St. Louis, MO; step-daughter Kim (John) Mounce of League City, TX; 2 sisters Shirley Emerson of Merritt Island, FL and Karen Allen of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sister-in-laws Jean (Gary) Abernathy of Pine Island, FL and Eldean Gibson of Oklahoma City, OK; 6 grandchildren; Alek, Reilly, Mackenzie, Cole and Abbey Wegmann, and Natalie Mounce; great grandson Reece Wegmann; 3 nephews Ralph (Susan) Gibson, Thomas (Debbie) Gibson and Mike (Michelle) Emerson; nieces Linda Vickers, Myrl Bassinger, Cindy Walker; great nephews and nieces Terry, Chris, Jason, Jimmy, Michael, Thomas, Ryan, Amy, Amanda, Ian, Ashley and other loved ones.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Richard Gibson.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 28th from 2 to 4pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL with services following. A visitation in Oklahoma City will be Monday, July 1st from 10am to 1pm at Vondel Smith Funeral Home, 4000 SW 119th St, Oklahoma City, OK with a 3pm graveside service with Military Honors to be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK.
