Robert Allen Brown

Bob moved to Cape Coral in 1972 with his wife Joanne and two sons, Jeff and Robbie. He was in the construction industry, but when not working he could be found at his sons’ football and baseball games, watching as a proud father. He and Joanne gave their kids a wonderful childhood. Boating, camping, trips to Chicago, and sports were activities he enjoyed with his family. Bob and Joanne spent many years in their RV traveling across the United States visiting every state but two, and also voyaged on their boat many times to the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. Bob made lifelong friends and memories over the 53 years spent in Cape Coral.

Bob (Papa) was fortunate to have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending family time at Sunday dinners and holidays with the whole family. He will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family. Living in Sandoval, he enjoyed playing bocce ball, bingo, his Tuesday lunches with the boys, and cruising with his friends. He affectionately earned the name “The Candy Man” from his Sandoval friends.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Joanne, of 65 years and his children Jeff and Robbie Brown; grandson Anthony Brown and his spouse Taylor and their son Wesley; granddaughter Lauren and her spouse Zack Sheffield and their children, Jackson, Pierce, and Hadley; granddaughter Andrea Brown;

and grandson Stephen Brown and his spouse Talia. Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and a great number of others who were proud to have earned his friendship. Sadly, Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Eleanor Brown and by his daughter-in-law Karen Brown; brother Donald Brown and his wife Eve and also by his sister Norma Thuy and her husband Ed.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025 inside the Sanctuary at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, Florida 33991, (239) 283-9501. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, a Celebration of Life honoring Bob will convene at the Sandoval Community Clubhouse, 2573 Sandoval Parkway, Cape Coral, Florida 33991. For entry into Sandoval, please mention the "Bob Brown Event" at the gate.

In lieu of flowers, please instead consider making a donation in memory of Bob to Valerie’s House, a community resource for children and families who have experienced tragedy, loss or death that allows individual grief to be shared so that many can learn how to better cope and move forward.
