Roberto Mateo Curbelo

Roberto Mateo Curbelo, age 91, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born September 21, 1932 in Vertientes, Camaguay, Cuba. Roberto married his wife at 29 years old. He had his son Enrique Jose Curbelo (Henry), in August of 1962 and his daughter Hilda Tejeda, in January of 1965. The family of 4 immigrated to the USA in August of 1968.

After arriving in the USA, Roberto, who was a banker by profession, became a welder with his uncle-in-law, who had a welding company and was our sponsor when he immigrated to the USA.

He worked hard and eventually opened his own business and had several businesses throughout his life in Hollywood, Florida. He made a full life in the USA and never looked back.

Today, Roberto was retired and living well at his retirement community, had several investments that sustained his standard of living and lacked for nothing.

He traveled and enjoyed his life together with his wife for over 60 years. Had 4 grandkids, and 2 great grandkids which he loved very much.

He encouraged his son and daughter and gave them a great foundation and moral compass that has promoted their character and hard work.

He was a great Dad and counselor and was always eager to talk and help his family.

A visitation for Roberto will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991. A funeral service will occur immediately afterward, beginning at 12 pm. Interment will take place at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
