He was born on December 6, 1949 at Deel Virginia in a log cabin by a midwife to Perry Adam Fuller and Rosa Jane (nee: Keen) Fuller. Roy was a proud American, a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy he qualified for the 1976 Naval Olympic wrestling team. He received the Combat Action Ribbon while serving on the USS Cleveland.
During high school Roy excelled at wrestling, track, football and science.
Roy enjoyed music and was a country singer/song writer, having multiple songs that made the Billboard top 100 list. Roy was an accomplished watercolor artist, enjoyed fishing, RV'ing, and astronomy photography. Roy was an entrepreneur holding patents on fishing lures, he was an enthusiastic Sci-fi short story writer, and although he only started playing tennis at 48, he became Florida state champion at 55 with his tennis team.
Roy is survived by his loving family including his wife of 41 years, Rita Carol (nee: Hale) Fuller; daughter, Vanessa Carol Fuller of Key West, Florida; son Perry Adam (Veronica) Fuller II of Cape Coral; granddaughter, Rhiannon; father, Perry Adam Fuller of Deel Virginia; sisters, Shelia (Anthony) Panno of Spring Hill, Florida and Mary (Roger) Blankenship of Deel Virginia; his fur babies, Harley, Major and Sampson; brother, Charles David (Sandy) Fuller.
Celebration of Life services will begin at 12:00noon on Tuesday, October 20th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:00am. Military Honor will be provided by the U.S. Navy.
In lieu of flowers donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
