Shirley Lucas is my mother she's been gone for 2 years now I sure miss her when I'm in town which is all the time except when I go on vacation I am there to see her on Sunday mornings love you Mom and I miss you dearly

I can't believe it's been a year already. You have a new great great granddaughter now. She was born a few months ago and her name is Eve. The kiddos are all doing well. I hope you are enjoying experiencing calm and happiness now. You deserve it. I love and miss you.

This is a picture of Grandma Shirley before she got sick. She was a true American,tough, mountain woman who made her way in this world and did it on her own terms. I am proud to have called her Grandma. I know she is in peace now. So I will just do my best to remember her healthy and vibrant. 
    Rest well Grandma, you earned it❤️

This is a picture of my Grandma and Grandpa Tommy. They were quiet spoken most of the time and quick with a joke all of the time. I will miss them both dearly.  I have already been missing Grandpa Tommy for a good many year's now. It brings me some peace to think they are finally back together again  and enjoying the love that shared for so many years ❤️❤️❤️  Rest in peace Grandma and Grandpa. 

Shirley was a wonderful person and the best stepmom to me. Having her and Ed come into our lives brought a sense of calm to me and my Dad.  Shirley was free of drama and never spoke harshly or ill of anyone. 

I admired her can-do attitude. There wasn’t any project she wouldn’t tackle. Some work was being done on their house and she didn’t like the way a workman installed something so while he was at lunch, she pulled it out and reinstalled correctly! That was just one of many examples of her abilities. 

Shirley was a treasure and she is missed already and forever. Rest in peace.

      Have nothing but good memories of Miss Shirley. Always ready to be a great host, the woman treated me with courtesy and respect. Wishing the lady a smooth and joyous journey.  

So sorry for your loss. Momma Shirley was the sweetest woman I’ve ever met.  Gods speed Shirley. 

Where to start. Shirley was my mother for 67 years. She looked over me and protected me when I was young. We left North Carolina when I was six from a bad situation that she was protecting me from we started a new life. When I was 12 she met Tom Lucas and they stayed married for 32 pretty good years. My mother had a mechanical ability that was comparable to some of the finest Masters I've seen the quilts she's made are truly works of art.  My mom came from the depression area with seven brothers and sisters with a great mom and an okay father. Because of that background she be she was pretty frugal in her ways and money was pretty important to her but she would never let anyone else know it. She was always a person that did not want to hurt anyone's feelings but she would indeed stand up for herself. She was not a gossiper nor did she seek gossip pretty cool I think. She was an awesome wife awesome mother she looked after her husband Tommy until he passed away and she took care of herself and her pets oh boy did she love her pets. Anyway I looked after like she looked after Tommy. She was a very loyal person and she inspired loyalty me I love you Mom.
