Shirley M. Vander Laan, 87, of St. James City passed away Friday, November 25, 2017. She was born November 22, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI. Shirley enjoyed her retirement from TJ Max and creating flower gardens. Visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a wonderful treat. She loved Florida and her neighbors.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Albert; sister Mern; brother Roger; sons Gary Jay, and Douglas; daughter Laura; 4 grandsons Robert, Kevin, Craig and Brad; 2 great grandsons Colton and Kayden. A private family service will be held late in December. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society.
