Thomas Donnelly, 83, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on May 14, 2024. He was born on January 3, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Joseph Donnelly and Mary Burke Donnelly. Tom served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He had a passion for sales and began his career at the Ford Motor Company. He completed his career with International Harvester/Navistar.
Tom married June McEntee on January 26, 1963. He was a loving father to four children and caring husband to June. He was also known as a supportive grandfather “Poppy” to his 10 grandchildren.
For the past seven years Tom was a loving partner to Terry Lambert. They enjoyed spending time gardening, fishing, and relaxing around the pool.
Tom will be remembered for the love and energy he shared with his family, friends, and all who crossed his path. He extended that love and support to those he encountered as a devout sponsor, member of Cape Alliance Church, and Hope Hospice volunteer.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 40 years June McEntee Donnelly and his siblings Joseph, Patricia and James Donnelly.
He is survived by his children Charlene Meyer (David), Susan Costa (Anthony), Lisa Donnelly, and Tammy Platten (Bryan); his partner Terry Lambert; his grandchildren Lindsey Ricciardi (Anthony), Kristen Costa (Greg), Joseph Meyer (Brandee), Nicholas Twardus (Hannah) Kasey Twardus, Justin Meyer (Amber), Tyler Platten, Antonia Costa, Stephanie Moad, and Adam Platten his brother Richard Donnelly (Margaret); best friend William Henry, along with his many nieces and nephews.
Please join us in celebrating his life May 31, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Cape Coral First Methodist Church, located at 4118 Coronado Parkway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, or Wounded Warrior Project.
