William Joseph McElligott

William Joseph McElligott, 95, a resident of Cape Coral, FL went to Eternal Life February 3, 2026. He was born March 8, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Thomas J McElligott and Lucille (Jabusch)McElligott. He attended Lincoln High Class of 1948, Manitowoc, Wisconsin he also graduated from Marquette University Class of 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 as a Communication Officer under the auspice of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Bill was a man of many talents and quite the jokester. He was an avid bird watcher. He and his wife loved to travel across the United States. He was always "working" on some type of project. He did everything by hand.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille and father, Thomas. His brothers, Tom, Patrick, Robert and James; sister, Mary. He also lost his youngest son, Timothy and the love of his life since high school beloved wife, Audrey.

He is survived by his oldest daughter, Anne L. Griesser; son, William T. McElligott; four grandchildren, Becky, Bob, Scott and Max; three great granddaughters; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass is being planned at St Andrew's Catholic Church along with An Honour Guard Ceremony in the coming weeks. Dates, times and locations will be posted when determined.
