

William Prescott McPhee passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at age 86. He was born December 20, 1928 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. William was named after Revolutionary war hero William Prescott who commanded the patriot forces at the battle of Bunker Hill.
William spent his early years in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High in 1946. He then enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
He married his long-time sweetheart, Jeanne Helen Stone on November 16, 1950.
After his service to our country he followed his family down to Fort Myers, Florida. William began his career as an apprentice carpenter. He worked his way up to master carpenter, foreman and eventually a construction superintendent.
Among the local projects he worked on or supervised were; the Naples Community Hospital, the Naples water plant expansion, the Fort Myers Beach Sewer treatment plant, the Lehigh Acres Sewer Treatment Plant, and the Cape Coral reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Stone McPhee, his second wife Lois McPhee, son Michael Wayne McPhee, and grandson Jason Alan McPhee.
William is survived by his brother Robert McPhee of Fort Myers and sister Ruth Chubbeck of Rock Spring, Georgia; sons; Jeffrey Scott McPhee of Cape Coral, Gregory Brian McPhee of North Fort Myers, and daughter Laurie McPhee Owen of North Fort Myers; daughters in law; Patricia Rooney McPhee, Jill Muralt McPhee, Beth Collier McPhee, and son in law Kevin Owen; Six grandchildren; Jonathan McPhee, Jenn McPhee Munoz, Wendy Owen Dalrymple, Cory Owen, Katie Owen Brown, and Barry Owen; seven great-grandchildren; Zane McPhee, Tallula McPhee, Davie Dalrymple, Lucas Dalrymple, Toby Owen, Lucy Munoz, and Meghan Brown.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery between the hours of 10:30 – 11:30am with service and entombment with military honors to follow.
