

Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara. Sons, Ray (Jana) & family, Christopher, Stephanie, Amanda, William Allisson & Marissa; Kelvin (Suzanne) & family, Keygan, Lorry & Matt Sinclair & family, Tyrel Greggains, Amy & Mike Waiman, Rosy & Josh Knutson & family, Dylan & Laina Geggains & family, Ryan & Justine Greggains & family; Blaine (Kim) & family, Kordell, Korbin & Tyler. Sister, Myrtle Corrigan. Brother, Gordon (Kay) Hewitt. Aunts, Edith Hewitt & Hazel Richardson. Predeceased by his parents, Ted & May Hewitt. Sister, Georgina Anheliger.
John Arthur Hewitt was born in Arcola on April 17, 1936 to Ted & May Hewitt. He went to school at Moose Creek up to Grade 6 after which he went out to start his working career, working on the farm and helping Uncle Art with the phone lines. He worked many years on the oil rigs and Jack was also a Battery Operator. With numerous other jobs in between, at last he became a truck driver. For the last number of years he worked for Coderre Construction.
On October 3, 1959 Jack married Barbara Jessie Wedge of Rosser, Manitoba and brought the city girl to a snow bound little Saskatchewan town. Through that union they have three wonderful sons, Ray (Jana), Kelvin (Suzanne) and Blaine (Kim).
Jack was a member of the Moose Creek United Church & a Charter Member of the Carlyle & District Lions Club. Jack loved playing cards. In 1987, Jack & Barbara moved to Kenosee Lake. He loved life there and would never move.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 from the Carlyle United Church with Reverend John Bullas officiating. Cremation with interment in Moose Creek Cemetery at a later date.
If friends so desire, donations to the Arcola Health Centre or a charity of their own choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
