My sympathies. I idolized Linda when we were growing up. Our parents were friends, she was the teenager I was the little girl who wanted to be cool like Linda. Even if I was a pest she never let on. Whenever we would meet she always had a warm greeting and big smile. Take time to grieve, she will be missed.

When I read of your mom's passing,a rush of fond memories came over me.  All those Christmass and New Years we spent together! She seemed to find time to spend with each one of us six kids, making us all feel special. I still remember listening to your mom's Elvis albums at your old house and thinking how cool that was. Dear Gordon and Deanna and families, So very, very sorry to hear about your mom.  She had such an impact on us Andersons growing up.  She helped out while we were all young-- helping mom with childcare, household duties and gardening.  And of course our families spent Christmases and New Years together for all those years.  One of my favourite gifts was from Linda.  A little Avon Cat pin with perfume inside.  I kept it for years even after I had outgrown it.  Then as a teen I gave it to a little girl visiting our house one day and she was as thrilled with it as I had been.  We always made sure to bring out our newest board game when Linda was there.  She'd join right in, reading the rules and teaching us how it was played.   She gave us our first jobs, when she hired us to babysit or spend a day spring cleaning.  As kids we just naturally enjoyed being around her.  She accepted you as you were. I always felt that Linda sincerely liked us and wanted to spend time with us. And that is a really great feeling when you are a kid.  I have many good memories of Linda, and I pray you will find comfort and peace during this difficult time as you say to good-bye to your mother and grandmother.
