Barbara Jean Bowman

Barbara Jean Bowman, 88, of Carmel, departed this life the morning of Friday, November 8, 2019. She was born March 5, 1931 in Vermillion County, Indiana to the late Lewis and Juanita (Milligan) Hedges. She graduated from beauty school and later stayed at home to take care of her family. Barbara was a member of the VFW in Sheridan, Indiana where she would work bingo nights. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Barbara is survived by her children, Teresa Snodgrass, Lawrence Bowman, Gerald Bowman, Cathy Bowman and Nanette Adduci; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren (with another on his way); half siblings, Carl Martin and Juanita; step siblings, Lois Wade and Rita Doyle. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 67 years, Harry Bowman; sons, Michael and Glen Bowman and grandchildren, Barbara Jean, Jeremy and Jennifer; sister, Marlene Carter; and step siblings, Arthur Martin and Ed Martin. Visitation for Barbara will be from 4 – 7 pm on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel , 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana.
