David Elmo Stouder, 74, of Carmel, IN died March 25, 2020 at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. The youngest child of Wayne and Rheua (Kunkle) Stouder, he was born July 14, 1945 in Louisville KY.
He took pride in his 30 year career at Indiana Bell as a Switching Technician and loved to fish, shoot targets, and garden. Dave was an avid coin collector. He was also exceptionally talented at working around the house, making improvements and repairs, and spent endless hours trying to improve the life of his family. Dave had a big heart for animals and enjoyed caring for the family cats.
Dave was a member of the Bell Conservation Club and the NRA. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Dave loved his family and friends and was very proud of his children, Michael, Lizzie, and Matt, and of all their accomplishments. He especially enjoyed fishing with them and helping with scout projects. He was also very appreciative of his large extended family.
Preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Rheua Stouder of Dallas, TX, Dave is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Henneberry) Stouder of Carmel, IN; his children: Michael Stouder of Albany, NY, Elizabeth (Andrew) Napier of Whitestown, IN, and Matthew (Hongwei) Stouder of Blue Ash, OH; his granddaughter Claire Napier; and his brother Wayne Stouder of Westfield, IN.
Funeral arrangements will be determined at a later time.
