Hughie "HL" Lee Cooper

Hughie served 8 years in the US Army. He worked as a machinist for Wood Industries for 37 years. He was a member of New Light Christian Church, American Legion Post 155, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10003, and a member of AA for 45 years.

HL is survived by his wife, Betty Joan Cooper; his son Charles Cooper (Kenetha), daughter Christine Cooper; his son Daryl Cooper (Peggy); his son Jeffrey Cooper (Sheila).

Hughie is also survived by grandchildren Amanda, Jayden, Jasmine, AJ and Taylor and great grandchildren Isabella (Izzy), Jaida, Konner, Oakley, Paxton, Cavan, and Oliver.

HL was preceded in death by his father Ezra F. Cooper and his mother Nell R. Cooper; his brother Dexter Cooper; his brother Don Cooper; his brother Ben Cooper, his brother Jeffrey Cooper, and his sister Betty Alexander.

A visitation for HL will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel. HL will be laid to rest in Carmel Cemetery, Carmel, IN.
