John W. “Jack” Andrews 91, beloved husband, father & grandfather of Carmel, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2021. Jack was born in New Brighton, PA in 1929 and graduated from Beaver Falls HS in 1947. Jack’s college studies were paused by serving his country in the US Army for nearly three years stationed in Germany during the Korean war.
He then graduated from Geneva College taking night classes while working full time. Jack spent his entire career at Standard Steel Specialty Co and its affiliates as a sales engineer and was very well known in the passenger elevator industry. Jack made many life-long friends who began as his customers, was a people person and never met a stranger. He was a man of great faith, generosity, and a strong work ethic. After his family, Jack’s passion was being a private pilot for many years and private airplane ownership.
Jack is survived by his wife of 68 years Marion and two sons, Thomas Andrews (Stephanie) of Bradenton, FL, and James Andrews (Lorie Lee) of Carmel. He is also survived by four grandchildren Michael, Scott, Jack and Adrienne (Justin) Inscoe, and two sisters in law, Joann Andrews and Lois Leslie, four nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 12th at Leppert Mortuary - Smith Carmel Chapel with visitation from 11:00-1:00. Jack’s funeral service will be livestreamed beginning at 12:45 pm at www.leppertmortuary.com Burial will be private at Carmel Cemetery.
