A native of Martinsville, Indiana, Mary worked for The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P grocery stores) for many years as leader of the accounting department. In 1985 she transferred from Indianapolis to Atlanta, Georgia.
Then in 1993 a disabling health condition necessitated a move back home to Indianapolis.
For the past 11 years, Mary was a beloved resident at Wellbrooke of Westfield. Known for her playful wit, she often teased the staff and always had a warm smile for her caregivers. Her strong will, determination, and love of life saw her through many challenges, and her love and appreciation for those around her always shone through.
Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to country music, working on puzzles, and watching soap operas until her vision began to fade. In later years, she loved singing along to familiar tunes, playing bingo, and spending time with staff—especially Anita, her dear friend and social worker. Most of all, Mary loved being with her family, and she was always quick to smile and say, “I love you.”
Mary is survived by her loving children: sons Danny Bolin and John (Jennifer) Bolin, and daughters Sandy (Joseph) Toole and Donna Bolin. She was a proud grandmother to Zachary (Katherine) Lowry, Jeremy (Ishia) Bolin, Karla (Kyle) Stryker, and Haley Bolin. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Brianna Lowry, Mia Lowry, Caleb Stryker, Marissa Bolin, Shay Lynn Bolin, Jeremy Bolin, Leelan Bolin, as well as her great-great-grandson Xayvion Salvador.
She was preceded in death by her brother James Mosier, her sister Ruth Watson, and her parents John and Mabel Mosier.
Mary’s life was a testament to strength, humor, and the enduring power of love. Despite her limitations and disabilities, she was an inspiration to everyone around her. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
