Roberta Ann Durbin

Born on June 12, 1940, in Bloomington, Indiana, she was a graduate of Bloomington High School, and later attended Indiana University.

Roberta served as the Our Lady of Mount Carmel head sacristan, sacramental record keeper, and rectory housekeeper for many years. She dedicated her life in service to God in His holy Temple and truly touched many with her example.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Durbin, and her sister, Evelyn. She is survived by her brother (Mike); her sons Steven (Kristi), David (Christy), John (Teodora) and James (Elise); and six grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on February 2, 2021, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Fr. Richard Doerr will be the presider. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://fb.me/e/15bLIl10f. Interment of her cremated remains will occur at a later date. As she was a long-time sacristan at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to fund the Paschal Candle for this upcoming Easter Season or other sacristy needs, or to the American Cancer Society.
