Clara E Orta Fargas

Clara Enid Orta Fargas, sobreviviente de cáncer de mama, partió pronto de nuestro mundo hacia un lugar major el 17 de febrero de 2022. Clara, como mucha gente la llamaba, o Eny para la familia cercana, nació de Inocencio Orta Allende e Irma Andrea Fargas Walker el 14 de septiembre de 1962 en Fort Ord cerca de Monterey, California. La familia regresó a Puerto Rico después del retiro de su padre, donde asistió a la escuela y se graduó de la escuela Antonio Sarriera Egozcue.

Estudió en la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón obteniendo su licenciatura en inglés la cual aplicó a su pasión por la enseñanza. Inicialmente, enseñando inglés en el Colegio San Juan Bosco de Santurce, luego en el Colegio Santa Cruz de Trujillo Alto durante 17 año. Finalmente, brindó instrucción de inglés a través del Departamento de Educación a sus queridos estudiantes en la Escuela Intermedia Salvador Brau en Carolina. Sus alumnos le devolvieron el amor y el respeto, apoyándola a través de sus tratamientos contra el cáncer y, más recientemente, vistiendo todos de negro durante un día en la escuela para mostrar su dolor por la pérdida de una maestra tan maravillosa.

Eny también siguió una pasión por el baile, especialmente la salsa, donde se destacó en las competencias y donde se formaron filas de personas ansiosas por bailar con alguien con tanta habilidad natural.

El único amor que superó al de sus alumnus y el baile fue el amor a su familia, en especial a su hijo José Ruben Perez Orta, y luego a su primera nieta, Avihanna Camille Perez Cruz.

Eny era amorosa, cariñosa, solidaria, independiente e increíblemente fuerte. Su hermosa alma ha dejado este mundo demasiado pronto para que la aceptemos fácilmente y la extrañaremos durante mucho tiempo, pero nos queda el apoyo de Eny a través de su ejemplo de vida y nuestros recuerdos compartidos.

A Enid le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos, Raimundo Orta Oquendo y Cecilia Allende Rodriguez, Tiburcio Fargas Ayala y Francisca Walker; padre, Inocencio Orta Allende. Le sobreviven su madre, Irma Andrea Fargas Walker; hermanos, Inocencio (Kathryn Damschroder), Luis Enrique/Ricky (Kayty Rodriguez) y Wanda (Daniel Santos); hijo, José (Alexandra Cruz); nieta, Avihanna; sobrinas/sobrinos, Kayla, Victoria, Chencho, Christopher Orta; Henry, Emmany, Ezequiel Orta Rodriguez; Danny Santos Orta, Jr; y tías, tíos y una gran cantidad de primos.

Clara Enid Orta Fargas, a breast cancer survivor, departed to soon from our world for a better place on 17 Feb 2022. Clara, as many people called her, or Eny to close family, was born to Inocencio Orta Allende and Irma Andrea Fargas Walker on 14 Sep 1962 at Fort Ord near Monterey, California. The family moved back to Puerto Rico after her father’s retirement where she attended school and graduated from Antonio Sarriera Egozcue School.

She studied at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón earning her BS in English which she applied to her passion for teaching. Initially, teaching English at Colegio San Juan Bosco in Santurce, then Colegio Santa Cruz in Trujillo Alto for 17 years. She ultimately provided English instruction through the Department of Education to her beloved students at Escuela Intermedia Salvador Brau in Carolina. Her students returned her love and respect, supporting her through her cancer treatments and, most recently, by all wearing black for a day at school to show their sorrow at the loss of such a wonderful teacher.

Eny also followed a passion for dancing, especially salsa, where she excelled in competitions and where lines formed of people eager to dance with someone so naturally skilled.

The only love that surpassed that for her students and dancing was the love for her family, especially for her son, José Ruben Perez Orta, and later for her first grandchild, Avihanna Camille Perez Cruz.

Eny was loving, caring, supporting, independent and incredibly strong. Her beautiful soul has left this world too soon for us to accept easily and she will be missed for a long time to come but we are left with Eny’s support through her life example and our shared memories.

Enid was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raimundo Orta Oquendo and Cecilia Allende Rodriguez, Tiburcio Fargas Ayala and Francisca Walker; father, Inocencio Orta Allende. She is survived by her mother, Irma Andrea Fargas Walker; siblings, Inocencio (Kathryn Damschroder), Luis Enrique/Ricky (Kayty Rodriguez), and Wanda (Daniel Santos); son, Jose (Alexandra Cruz); granddaughter, Avihanna; nieces/nephews, Kayla, Victoria, Chencho, Christopher Orta; Henry, Emmany, Ezequiel Orta Rodriguez; Danny Santos Orta, Jr; aunts, uncles, and a whole host of cousins.
