Randy was born on October 27, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Bill and Ann Cary Waers. The oldest of three children, she spent her early years in Missouri before moving with her family to Oklahoma, where she attended high school. She later returned to Missouri to attend the University of Missouri, an experience that helped shape her independent and determined nature.
Following college, Randy went back to Oklahoma before ultimately making her home in Dallas, Texas, in 1970, where she would spend the rest of her life. Dallas suited Randy perfectly—full of energy, opportunity, and personality, just like her.
Randy built an impressive and trailblazing career in sales, working for Xerox and later in the packaging industry. At a time when few women held such roles, she thrived in a male dominated field with confidence and style. She often delighted friends and family with stories of crisscrossing the Dallas metro area in her sharp business suits and heels, selling everything from oice equipment to packaging solutions. Her success, determination, and charisma made her not only a standout professional, but a pioneer for women in business.
She had a deep love for Dallas and for the many friendships she cultivated there over the years. She spoke often and fondly of her dear friends Cathy and Carla, along with many others who became like family to her.
Randy’s love for her own family was fierce and unwavering. She shared a lifelong bond with her brothers, Jeff and David Waers. Though David preceded her in death, her connection with Jeff remained unbreakable. Randy also held a special place in the hearts of her extended family, especially those in the Kansas City area. She was the keeper of family stories, remembering details, sharing history, and passing those memories on to younger generations so they would never be lost.
Randy will be remembered for her warmth, humor, intelligence, curiosity, charm, and beauty, both inside and out. She had a gift for living in the moment and bringing others along with her, filling rooms with laughter and making even ordinary days feel special.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harrell; her parents; and her brother, David Waers. She is survived by her brother, Jeff Waers; her aunt, Connie Waers; and many cousins, dear friends, and loved ones who will carry her memory forward.
Randy’s vivacious spirit cannot be dimmed by her passing. She lives on in the hearts, memories, and stories of all who knew and loved her—and she will never be forgotten.
A Memorial Service will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South Interstate 35e, Carrollton, TX 75006, US, on April 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a light reception to follow.
