Barbara Jean Dalton

Barbara Jean Dalton was born in Oklahoma City on 11/11/34 at St. Anthony’s Hospital to Edward and Beatlas Crowley. On 3/2/62 she married Robert “Jim” Dalton and raised two children: Laurie and Robert “Bob.” She lived in Oklahoma until moving to Dallas in 1966. In 1986, after raising her children, she helped start Dalton Mailing Service, a company now run by her son. Barbara spent her life in service to God and others. A long time member of both Mary Immaculate and the Christian Community of God’s Delight she also served as the spiritual director for St. Vincent de Paul for 5 years. Barbara enjoyed creative activities including drawing, painting, and reading. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and took much pleasure from her grandkids. Barbara is survived by her brother Richard and wife Ruthie, her daughter Laurie and son-in-law David, her son Bob and daughter-in-law Dyan and the true loves of her life, her seven grandchildren: Julia, Emily, Michelle, Christina, Annette, Christopher, and Audrey. Barbara exuded a cheerful, positive energy that was infectious to all those she encountered. From those she served to those she loved, every person who knew Barbara knew a greater joy because of her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Visitation and Rosary will start at 6:30pm on Sunday June 12 at Rhoton Funeral Home and the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday June 13 at 10am at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.
