Betty June Kee Laney

Betty was born in Concord, Texas on November 23, 1934, to Wright Kee and Ruby Bell Kee. She graduated from Carlisle High School and continued to receive an Associates degree from Tyler Junior College where she played saxophone in the Apache band. Betty was married to Hubert Laney on November 2, 1957; they were married 64 years.

Betty worked in Accounting for Otis Engineering for 15 years. She enjoyed bridge, reading, antiques, hosting parties, and her grandchildren. She was a member of Faith United Presbyterian church and was actively involved at Covenant Presbyterian as well as North Dallas and Farmers Branch Women’s Clubs and Epsilon Sigma Alpha (Zeta Alpha chapter) women’s sorority.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Laney, her mother and father, Wright and Ruby Kee, and her brothers, Ronald Kee and Sammie Kee.

Betty is survived by children, Holli Grier, Lisa Laney (and Marlin Brantley), Tina Cone (and Robert), grandchildren, Aaron Grier, Adam Grier, Leslie Edwards (and Tyler), Melaney Sherman (and Nick), Robert Cone, Jr. (and Caroline), Laney Brown (and Andrew), Carson Cone, and great grandchild Charlotte Edwards, and other family and friends.

Christian burial will be held at 10 am on February 15, 2025, at Rhoton Funeral Home with Jay Franks officiating. Committal will follow at Concord Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
