Beverly Jean “Bev” Riley of Carrollton, Texas, beloved wife of Edd Riley, passed into the presence of Jesus on Monday, March 3, 2025. She was born in Hobart, Indiana, on October 2, 1939, to parents Harvey and Nellie Granzow.
In 1964, Beverly married Edd Riley in Georgia. Soon after, they moved to Fort Sill Army post in Oklahoma. The couple welcomed a son in 1965 and then were stationed in Germany for the next several years. Upon returning to Fort Sill in 1969, the family celebrated the birth of a daughter and Edd retired from the Army. The family then moved to Carrollton, where they joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Beverly was very involved in the lives of her children and her church. Whether it was school events, constant carpooling, dance recitals, Sunday school or sporting events, she was always there (usually with a car full of kids). As the children aged, Beverly began working at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church where she retired in 2003. She really enjoyed visits from her brother, Bob, and sleepovers with her grandchildren who called her Nana.
Beverly is survived by her brother, Bob Granzow (Valparaiso, IN), son, Tom, and wife, Patti Riley (Carrollton, TX); daughter, Michelle Hoedebeck, and husband, Fred (The Colony, TX); grandchildren, Emily Riley (Carrollton, TX) and Lauren Riley (Carrollton, TX); and several nieces and nephews. Beverly will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Riley, her parents, Harvey and Nellie Granzow, and sister-in-law, Mary Granzow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church-Senior Ministry.
