Charlotte Lee Godwin

Charlotte Lee Tarter Godwin, 78 passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 in Carrollton, Texas. Charlotte was born to Albert Eugene & Mary Alice Poe Tarter on March 12, 1935 in Loco, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister Helen Tarter Godwin. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years James Raymond Godwin; son Albert Eugene Godwin and wife Carolyn; son Henry Wyndell Godwin and wife Yolanda; son Jimmy Don Godwin and wife Cynthia; daughter Carolyn Sue Godwin Lang and husband Edward Lang III; Grandchildren Tina, Linda, Phillip, Timothy, Jeremy, Jeffrey, Christopher, Andrea, IV and James ; Great-grandchildren Rebekah, Brennan, Alyssa, Jerod, Regan, Andrew, Caitlynn, Emily, and Mary.; sister Pat Tarter Britton and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton and later became an Associate Member at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Texas. Charlotte was involved in many Church activities that included Vacation Bible School, choir and missionary work. She enjoyed playing the piano, wrote children’s stories, and loved being with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 10 am in Carrollton Texas. Interment will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
