Debra Marie Whitley

Debra Marie Drew Whitley was born to David Drew and Wanda Cameron in Vancouver, WA on September 14, 1952. She married T. Michael Whitley on June 13, 1970 in Austin, TX. She passed away on August 6, 2016. Her life was one of faith and service. A perpetually happy person, she loved to help those in need and never met a stranger. She had a ready smile for all. Her family was the center of her life and she gave countless hours loving and serving her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her faith was unshakeable and she willingly shared her testimony with all those she came in contact with. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She served as president for several years of the organization Heart to Heart, which helped support families of children with congenital heart defects. She decided once all of her children were grown to attend college, where she worked hard to earn her associate degree. After that, she worked at Brookhaven College for a number of years. She was active in her community serving on the City of Carrollton’s Property Standards board and Neighborhood Advisory Commission. She was predeceased in death by son, Aaron Whitley, father, David Drew, step father, Bob Cameron, and father in law, William Whitley. She is survived by her husband, children Michael (Heather), Steven (Amanda), Kristie (Barth Yorke), Melissa (Austin Palmer), mother, step-mother Hong Drew, mother in law, Letha Whitley, sisters Shelly Egan (Richard) and Elizabeth Drew, brothers Ron Bigler (Tammy), Henry (Paan) and David Drew, and 13 grandchildren.
