

Dolores Rita Nichol, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on December 25, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dolores was raised in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from St. Edwards Catholic High School in 1949.
Dolores had a fulfilling career, working in the audits department for Sears and teaching for a few years at St. Phillips Catholic School in Dallas, Texas. In her later years, she worked at Macy's.
In 1950, Dolores married Gene Ray Nichol, and together they had three sons: Gene Jr., Larry and Scott. Dolores and Gene were married for 55 years until his passing in 2005.
Dolores had a passion for watching Monday night football and tennis, especially when the Dallas Cowboys or Rafael Nadal were playing. She also enjoyed going to estate sales in her spare time.
She was committed to her family and steadfast in her faith, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and faithfulness.
Dolores is survived by her sons, Gene Nichol Jr. and Scott Nichol; her sister, Venetta Delfeld; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Gene Ray Nichol; her son, Larry Nichol; her father, Noel Dumas; her mother, Helen (Chwalinski) Dumas; and her brother, Noel "Buck" Dumas.
