

A consummate mother and homemaker, Doris was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She worked at Thomas Beckett and INA, from which she retired. She was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching football on television.
Having an unwavering faith in God, she loved and was loved by her church family and was one of the last remaining charter members of Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Doris was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Raymond J. Loveday and by her granddaughter, Carla Abney. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Elliott and husband Wayne, Patricia Loveday, and Lynda Shehane and husband Jerry; 7 grandchildren: Scott Bayer, Jeff Bayer, Mike Elliott and wife Junie, Megan Loveday, Christina Gillilan and husband DaRon, Stacy Carroll and husband David, and Laura Bass; 9 great-grandchildren: Jessica Bayer, Josh Elliott and wife Shellie, Ethan Elliott, Erin Elliott, Davion Abney, Alyssa Abney, Maddie Hunt, Sam Gillilan and Jack Gillilan; sister Mary Keller, brother James Lewis and wife Jeanette, sister-in-law Jean Lewis, and brother-in-law, Don Childress, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 S Interstate 35E Carrollton, Texas. A funeral celebrating her life will be held the following day on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm, also at Rhoton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas.
