12 novembre 1957 – 22 novembre 2024
Avis de décès de Gordon Curtis Lillie
AUX SOINS DE

Rhoton Funeral Home

Gordon Curtis Lillie, born 11/12/1957

Preceded in death by our son, Jeremy John Lillie on 3/29/2021, and his wonderful mother in law whom he loved dearly, Margie Nell Kroeplin, and his parents, Edward and Margy Lillie

Gordon grew up in Jamestown, New York playing baseball and was a star athlete. He moved with his family from Jamestown, New York to Dallas, Texas in the summer of 1974. He attended W. T. White High School where he met the love of his life in August of 1974, Tanya Kay Tyler. They married on July 7, 1979.

Gordon was a wonderful proud father to our two sons, Jeremy and Christopher. He worked with them from the time they were two years old to play hot box so they could excel in Baseball, and they did. Jeremy was a pitcher and Christopher was the catcher – they both were on the All Star Teams. He took them camping, fishing, boating, hunting, and he coached Jeremy and Christopher thru Little League Baseball and soccer in their younger years until they reached middle school. Gordon believed in a vacation every summer with our boys, and he made sure he worked overtime so we had the money to do it. He loved watching his kids excel in baseball as that was his sport he excelled in. Christopher continued to excel in Track and received college scholarships for his achievements. Gordon was so proud of him and the man, husband, and father he became. Gordon was so happy Chris found the love of his life his senior year of high school, Courtney Rae Cariker and they married July 22, 2006.

Gordon worked for PPG which became Vitro for 35 years of his life. He started when he was 18 years old. At the time of his retirement, he was the Supervisor of Production.

The joy of his life was his precious two grandsons, Caleb Ray and Carter Ray Lillie. He retired and kept them since they were babies until they started Kindergarten. We traveled to Disney World several times and multiple cruises with them. He took them to play houses, fishing, golfing, parks, out to eat and spent numerous hours with them. They brought such joy to his life and were his whole heart. They called him Papa.

Gordon is survived by his brother in law Jeffrey Warren Kroeplin and wife Betsy along with their beautiful children Ashlynn Elizabeth and Brayden Warren. Brothers, John Lillie, Gregg Lillie and wife Beverly, sister Judy Kendel and husband Norm and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Gordon was a kind generous man. One of the most honest human beings you would ever meet, and he had patience of Job. He never got mad about anything before thinking it over twice before engaging in a dispute.

Gordon will be dearly missed, but I am so grateful he is out of pain. We were together for a total of 50 years, and it seems like yesterday we fell in love. You do not find a love like ours often in life, and I am so grateful and blessed to have found him my sophomore year in High School. He is at peace with our Lord in Heaven now with our family that has gone before us. Until we meet again Honey!

All my love-
