Harvey arrived in heaven last Sunday where he joined his beloved Marian who preceded him in death in 2013. Harvey was strong in character and integrity, had a fierce love for family, and bought music to the ears of all who would listen with his rich baritone voice
He served in the Navy Air Corp 1944-1946. He earned a spot singing with the Tex Beneke Navy Band entertaining the troops. After leaving the Navy he traveled to California where he played with bands and got a Screen Extras Guild card and received a referral from MGM for singing and dancing.
Later he returned to his hometown of St Joseph, MO where after a short courtship he married his wife of 65 years, his beloved Marian. While working for the Quaker Oats Company in Sales and Promotions, they had three children. After living in 8 states they settled in Farmers Branch, Texas in 1972.
Harvey also had a 16 year career in Real Estate Sales, most of which was with Ebby Halliday. He won numerous sales awards as a top producer and was selected by the National Board of Realtors as a “RELO” Relocation Producer.
Memories of Harvey include; always volunteering, organizing, and singing at company events, even singing along with Ebby as she played her ukulele.
Harvey was active in the church groups, serving and singing. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and sports.
Once settled in Texas he bought an East Texas lake house, which became the beloved gathering place for his ever-growing family. Harvey left a legacy for generations to come, of love and devotion to family and to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
