Karolyn Kay Brown Peddecord

Passed away on May 2, 2012. She was proceded in death by her husband, J. Michael Peddecord, her sister, Joy Dickerson, her father, Gordon Brown and her mother, Georgianna Wait and many Peddecord relatives of whom she also loved dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Spencer, her son, Mike Peddecord, her son Tim Peddecord and wife Sharon, her son, Kevin Peddecord and his wife Ann, and her daughter Julie Everitt and husband Cliff. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Brown and his wife Ann. She has eight grandchildren, Kevin and Chelsea Peddecord, Ryan Spencer and Amanda Walding, Emily and Tucker Everitt, and Alec and Samantha Peddecord.

Kay grew up in Wichita, Kansas, met and married her life long love, Mike. They relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1969. After earning a degree in Nursing she worked as an Emergency Room Nurse for 20 years, the last 12 years as Director of Emergency Services. She founded the Metroplex Emergency Group in 1984 and served as President for three years. She later became Clinical Director for the Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic that serves the poor and uninsured. She was a loving patient advocate most of her adult life.

She maintained lasting friendships with her ER nurses. She also had many friends in her neighborhood of Country Place especially with her bridge club friends. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and friend. She was “Mimi” to her grandchildren of whom she had great affection. Our faith enables us to believe she is with God in the peace of heaven that she so richly deserves. We all love you.

Viewing will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home 1511 S. I-35 E. Carrollton, TX 75006 from 6pm-8pm Sunday May 6 with Rosary at 7pm.

A funeral Mass will be held at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church 14032 Dennis Lane in Farmers Branch at 10am on Monday May 7, 2012. Officiating at the service will be Father Bruce Bradley.
